The joint European and District Convention, hosted last May in the splendid setting of Catania, concluded with a success that exceeded all expectations, demonstrating the strength, professionalism, and enthusiasm of the European Kiwanis family.
The event combined excellent organization with memorable moments that showcased both our values and the cultural richness of the host region. The Opening Ceremony at the Teatro Sangiorgi offered a truly inspiring experience, while the Delegates’ Parade, accompanied by traditional flag throwers and the iconic Sicilian cart "carretto siciliano", created a unique atmosphere as participants made their way to the magnificent Palazzo Biscari, one of Sicily’s most prestigious Baroque landmarks, where the Gala Dinner was held.
The educational and showcase content of the Convention was equally valuable. Workshops focused on key strategic priorities, including the European sustainability project Green Steps for a Bright Future, the international Build, Nurture, Retain membership program, and the Voices initiative aimed at attracting and engaging younger generations. Participants also benefited from presentations on the Kiwanis Children's Fund and from a comprehensive showcase of the results achieved across Europe during the current year.
